MY CHINESE DREAM
My Chinese DreamMy Chinese Dream——From “Made in China” to “Designed by China”Dream, with each one of us.Dream is beautiful, it is the bottom of my heart the most beautiful expectations, so the dream?? also become our long-held beliefs. And my dream is to let my country become strong. The various kinds of products in delicate Chinese stores, inns and shops inevitably have the sign of “Made in China”。 Even if some people? do not speak English, after viewing plenty of those goods, are capable of identifying this high-frequency phrase. When Mr. Xu mentioned “Made in China” during social science class when explaining concepts, he solely referred to this phrase and wished it could become “Designed by China” in the future in a regretful voice. However, when I heard his words, my heart thumped. It is indeed true that at present, most of the miscellaneous goods are made in China instead of designed by China. For instance, some of my pens have the label of “Designed by Korea Made in China” . 在我的一些笔上写着:“Design by Korea Made in China.I still remember the indignation from my heart last time when I saw the news that a number of multinational companies made use of the low standard of “Made in China” to produce illegitimate products. From that on, I have a dream. I have a dream that one day those pitiable “Made in China” labels can transfer into “Designed by China” or even “China patent technology”。 Though I am neither a professional engineer, nor a sophisticated designer, I am only a student who has no specialized knowledge about invention. Nevertheless, I always have the dream that there will be less “Made in China” and more “Designed by China”。? Without actions, determinate can only be remote dreams generated from my mind. I said to myself silently, only when I take actions can the dreams become closer to facts. For instance, I should be more focused when having science class, should take some inventive extracurricular activities, should know more about lifetime stories of renowned inventors should be an active observer, should suggest others to act. Through these ways, the dreams are more likely to become less remote and the pitiful “Made in China” are more likely to diminish.? Unconsciously, I think of the abstract
word “patriotism”。 Some “patriots” resist the consumption of Japanese products. Some “patriots” damage Japan manufactured cars. Some “patriots” make humiliating GIFs about Japan. Some “patriots” attack countries that do not admit the China’s sovereignty of Diaoyu Island. The examples are endless. At their points of view, these are demonstrations of patriotism. Nonetheless, these actions may be too impulsive. Probably, it is a better way that we can earn respect from foreign nations via making China a more powerful country in terms of economics politics.?? But in my heart, I have a firm belief that other countries can respect China genuinely from the change of “Made in China” to “Designed by China”。 但我的心中,有坚定的信念,让其他国家,真正的对中国肃然起敬,让缩在一隅的“中国制造”,变成光明正大的“中国创造”!Finally,I want to say: We are the hope of our motherland, we should inherit the tradition of excellence, strive to advanced country contributes own strength. Here, I have a kind of inarticulate touched and proud.I for the construction of the Chinese people feel proud, proud of themselves as part of this great country!
Two Cheers for Made in China
Two Cheers for Made in China
Honourable judges, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,
Good evening!
Now, just imagine that you are travelling abroad and intend to buy a nice flask as your souvenir, only to find a few tiny words marked on it - "Made in China".What do you say then? Will you still feel sort of surprised like dozens of years ago, or just take it for granted?
Actually the popularity of Made-in-China commodities is no longer a rare phenomenon. While some negative sides of "Made in China" are controversial, such as the epidemic of low-quality goods, abuse of cheap labor and excessive consumption of natural resources, at the same time, it does possess irreplaceable advantages.
And the paramount one is its low price. This reminds me of a book named "A Year Without MADE IN CHINA" written by an American Sararh. Accidentally Sararh found that among the 39{中国制造英文演讲稿}.
Christmas presents she bought, 24 were made in China. Meanwhile, her families' shoes, socks, toys and many other household items were from China as well. All these rendered her perplexed. Will Americans move on without Made-in-China commodities? In concert with her families, Sararh made up her mind to have a year away from "Made in China". It turned out to be a tough year, for she had to buy daily necessities imported from other countries at an excessively high price. Or rather, they were compelled to give up more. The story tells us clearly that globalization is spreading and "Made in China" gaining its popularity because of low price. Were it not "Made in China", people worldwide would suffer a lot from a life of lower quality.
In addition to low price, the production of Made-in-China commodities is highly efficient as China embraces a developing economy with large amounts of labor. And Chinese workers are relatively well educated complying with labor discipline, which also contributes to the efficiency and produce.
What's more, thanks to the developed railway and highway network, communication and transportation in China are quite convenient. For instance, express delivery industry and online
shopping live in a symbiosis, bringing "Made in China" irreplaceable advantages.
Convenience of "Made in China" lies in purchasing of raw materials too. The heavy industry in China has been grown up, as the annual steel production can approximately reach 700 million. Besides the price is comparatively low. Thus the strong-point of "Made in China" can be self-evident.
However despite its popularity and low price; despite its convenience and efficient production, it remains-despite it all-a controversial issue. And the arguments are justifiable. Of course, strengthening actions against low-quality commodities is a matter of utmost urgency; improving laborers' social security system brooks no delay; exploring resolutions to environmental pollution allows of no excuse.
Fortunately, efforts are being made. As "Made in China 2025" initiative has been unveiled recently, more stress is to be put on the innovation ability, quality improvement and exploration of a green development pattern. I believe that one day, "Made in China" will become a byword for "high quality" and
"eco-friendly", and enjoys a fragrant reputation all over the world. Let's cheer for "Made in China" and the progress we will make!
Thank you for listening.

President Chen, faculty and students of Beijing Foreign Studies University:
Thank you for inviting me here today. It is truly an honor to be here, and I congratulate you on celebrating your 70th anniversary.
The start of a school year marks a new beginning for students. And so it’s fitting that I’m here to talk about a new beginning of my own.
I want to say how grateful I am for the warm welcome that my family and I have received from the Chinese people.
As you know, my ancestral home is in Taishan in Guangdong province. Since our arrival, the people of China have made my entire family feel, simply put: at home — And we are grateful.
I know that there are very high expectations for my tenure as ambassador.
I understand why: I am the first Chinese-American to hold this post. And I do have a proven record:
我知道为什么。我是第一个担任此职的华裔美国人。并且,我确实有着过硬的经历: As a governor;
作为一名州长;
As Commerce Secretary; and
As a man who has mastered the art of buying his own coffee AND carrying his own luggage!
I will do the best I can as U.S. Ambassador.
And although there is much work ahead to strengthen and expand U.S.-China cooperation — and to manage our differences when we don’t see eye-to-eye — I begin my ambassadorship with confidence that the overall state of our relationship is strong.
One thing I do know is that the people in this room will have a lot of influence in the future of the U.S.-China relationship.
For 70 years, Beijing Foreign Studies University has been a training ground for hundreds of China’s top leaders, including my friend and YOUR ambassador to the U.S., Zhang Yesui.
Whatever your careers, in the years ahead, you will be the international face of China, and your choices will determine the steps China takes in confronting its own — and the world’s — challenges.
But today, I’d like to discuss the steps I believe we must all take in
strengthening the US- China relationship.
To understand where the U.S.-China relationship is going, it’s helpful to remember just how far it has come already.
When I first attended college in 1968, a gathering like this would not have been possible — because America did not even have an ambassador in Beijing.
Contrast that with today, when it could be argued that the U.S.-China bond is one of the most important bilateral relationships in the world.
For 40 years, our two countries have been increasing our cooperation and interconnectedness for a very simple reason:
It is in our mutual interest.
Millions of jobs are sustained in China and the United States by the trade we do with one another. American consumers benefit from the goods made in China and daily the Chinese people rely on high quality U.S. products and services. And, as our companies make investments in each other’s countries, we are creating jobs for our peoples.
Every year, the comprehensive Strategic and Economic Dialogue brings
together policymakers from across both governments to discuss topics ranging from breaking down trade barriers to economic cooperation to collaborating on pressing regional and global issues.
To meet the challenge of global climate change, the U.S. and China can build on a legacy of over 30 years of cooperation on Science and Technology issues.
Similarly, the United States and China share an interest in maintaining peace and prosperity around the world.
Our defense ties extend back to World War II, when our soldiers fought and sacrificed together.{
Today, our defense interactions take place at the most senior levels, with the PLA Chief of the General Staff and the U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff working to improve lines of communication and strengthen the U.S.-China military to military relationship.
Perhaps our greatest security challenge is the existential threat posed by the proliferation of nuclear weapons and materials, in particular from North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs.
China has been a vital partner as chair of the Six-Party Talks, with a unique role because of its historic relationship with, and influence on, North Korea. The United States and China share the common goals of peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and North Korea’s complete and verifiable denuclearization in a peaceful manner.
Our countries must also continue to work together to address the Iranian nuclear program. We have coordinated an effective dual-track approach — leveraging international diplomacy and sanctions — with the other Permanent UN Security Council members as well as Germany to send a clear message from the international community to the Iranian regime that it must live up to its international obligations.
And the examples of shared security interests go on: from Afghanistan to Sudan.
We may not always initially agree on exactly how best to achieve our shared objectives. But when we successfully work together we often find mutually beneficial outcomes that serve the interests of all parties.
Think broadly about the contributions our nations have made to civilization. I recently visited the Diaoyutai guest house where four wood panels illustrate the Chinese contributions that defined the world for centuries: the compass, gunpowder, papermaking and the printing press.
And in the United States, we take great pride in our contributions — such as the light bulb, the television, the personal computer, and the Internet, which has changed all of our lives so profoundly.
From the flash of gunpowder to the light of electricity, from the printed page to a webpage, from navigating the waters of the globe to navigating the Internet, our two nations have contributed so much to the world of today.
Think about what we can do, in partnership, to improve the world of tomorrow.
So many problems in the world today — from climate change, to poverty and disease — simply will not be solved without strong U.S.-China cooperation.
Two Cheers for “Made in China”?
Hello, everyone. In the process of China's manufacturing industry, Dongguan city plays an important role in the development of Chinese manufacturing industry. Taking Dongguan as an example, there are many
large enterprises mainly for foundry. With the change of international business environment, quite a lot of companies are facing big challenges and even bankruptcy. Why?
About made in china, we should split our view to an objective and full-scale perspective. On the one hand, there are really some inevitable problems about made in china. For self-reason, many products without quality guarantee, shortage of core technology, the poor management of the enterprise can never be ignored and need to be developed. For external factor, many special global trade restriction and global trade environment also become the stumbling block of our industrial development.
On the other hand, we should look at this issue objectively, and support domestic goods instead of labeling “cheap copy”. Facing the learning, development, and progress of china’s manufacture, what is needed is understand and support, but not blindly and negative criticism.
