How to learn English

Just as someone puts it: Interest is the best teacher. That means, to learn something well, the most important thing is to develope a habit of learning it.

Well, are you interested in English? How do you make youself interested in English learning?

To be honoest, when I learned English for the first time, I think it was very difficulf. I always asked my parents, why do we learn English? But my parents answered: Because test… oh, it’s so terrible…. I always think, why should I learn a foreign language? How ridiculous it is! So, unluckly, In my primary school, I had a hard time to learn English.

My only interest to learn English is an English song by Micheal Jakson named: Beat It. During a long time, my old brother listened and sang this songs all day in the house which influenced me, I followed the rhythm and sang it all day. I repeated the words of the song: Beat it, beat it,just beat it… It is a rock song with so much passion. In fact, I don’t know what I sung, but I felt it was very funny. From then on, I formed a habit of hearing English songs. The more English songs you hear, the more interested I am in English. I began to remember the beautiful words of songs, and dream one day I can sing it to a lovely girl. Some beautiful words I still remember now, such as: I will never break your heart; take me to you heart, take me to you soul, give me your hand before I’m old; you are beautiful, you are beautiful ,it’s true, I saw your face in a crowded place,

and I don’t know what to do…. And so on…..

Little by little, I had an active attitude towards to English. I began to practice my pronunciation, I began to watch some English movies and remembered the nice parts in the movies. Here is a part of Titanic which I love most: I figure life is a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it; You never know what hand you’re going to get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you. How beautiful words it is.

So, according to what I had said, I have 3 points to sum up.

1. Passion is the key. In other words, you need develop a habit of

learning English.

2. You need speak it out. Many people hold that learning English

is just for test but never use it, mute English is not what we

want.

3. You need try to remember. Meanwhile, there are a lot of

difficult words, for some difficult words, you can learn them

once and once again, Just as an old saying said: Practice makes

perfect.

Today we learn English is hard, tomorrow is harder, but the day

after tomorrow is sunshine. Most people died on the tomorrow evening and can’t see the sun light of the day after tomorrow.

Some people will argue that these meetings will leave us with a choice between east and west, but I believe that the best future lies in the creative combination of both worlds. We can make western ideas, customs and technology our own, and adapt them to our own use. We can enjoy the best of both worlds, because our tradition is, above all, one of selecting the best and making it our own.

I love Beijing and Hennan opera because it always reminds me of who I am. But I am also a fan of pop music, especially English songs. So I have combined eastern melody with western language. It is called western henna opera.

When two cultures meet, there may be things in one culture, which do not fit into the tradition of the other. When this happens, we need to learn to understand and respect the customs of another culture. Then there are certain things some people may not like. To this, I will say, if you do not like it, please try to tolerate it. To learn to tolerate what you personally don’t like is a great virtue at a time when different cultures mix and merge. Ladies and gentlemen, When I look at the title, seeing is not believing, I find it interesting and set me thinking a lot. Now,I couldn’t help sharing my personal experience with you.

When I was still a little child,I believed that the earth is flat and the sky like a doom-shaped pot covering the earth because I was raised up in a vast plain. I used to playing with my friends around the straight and wide filed but we could never see the end.Therefore,I thought deeply that earth is flat. I didn’t changed my idea until I learned some relevant geographical knowledge

Later,I became a junior high school student and I liked watching the movie,especially those about the Eighth Route Army fighting against the Japanese invaders. I was so impressed that Chinese soldiers could kill so many Japanese and I wandered how many people would sacrifice in such a movie. Moreover,what surprised me is that the already died hero could be brought back to life in another new movie. I was always confused till I got to know what movie’s special technology is.

I was so indulged in what see for a long time. I still remembered it was a very hot afternoon that I was waiting for the bus at a station.A young man who seemed so misery and unlucky began chatting with me.He said that he was short of money and desired to go home,so he wanted to sell his mobile phone in a very low price. The phone looked so brilliant that I decided to give him all my money. However,I found that I had been cheated because that phone is fake and couldn’t even work. I was so regretful that my eyes deceived me again.

Now,as a college student,I believe that I will never be cheated by my eyes.However,it was not long before I got a sensational news from TV. It is reported that a pregnant woman was giving birth to a baby in a local hospital in Xiangtan Hunan province,but when the operating room’s doors finally opened,there was no doctor or nurse but leaving the dead body of the woman. At this time,her relatives were all shocked and sorrowful.My first reaction is to criticize that the hospital is irresponsible to the patient and to give sympathy to the innocent family. Most net citizens also condemned the doctor’s negligence. However,after doing full investigation ,authority found the major mistake is due to the woman’s relatives rather than hospital. It is the wrong decision made by her husband that deprived of her life. I chose to believe the media news but I was still wrong.

Seeing is not believing.What we see may be a special design .Life is complicated. We should not make judgment only based on what we see. “Look before you leap” is always the rational way to deal with things. If everybody could hold this principle in his mind, Romeo would not need to kill himself rashly and could enjoy the blessed life with Juliet, Othello would not have to make the same mistake and could be the respected general forever. When we try to understand this world, seeing is important,but what counts more is the knowledge,experience and positive attitude . That’s all thank you.
